MEMORIAL DAY 2013: TERRA INCOGNITA

Memorial Day is unusual among our national holidays in that it links the past with the present and the future. Put another way, Memorial Day has been traditionally a celebration and a remembrance of all that has come and gone which in turn has set the stage for the here and now and that what is yet to be. We remember not only our dead but what they did for us and how they influenced the course of history.

This Memorial Day seems stranger and more ominous than any I have ever experienced before. There is a miasma hanging over the Republic like a dank, thick clammy fog that makes our every action more difficult for lack of a clear vision as to where we are going and where we have come from.

We are ensnarled in crisis and scandal, sapping the confidence we have in our government and it’s leadership. The “Ship of State” feels like it’s sailing with no hand on the tiller and no helmsman at the wheel.

All the comfortable and comforting words of memory to our sacred dead who preserved for us with “their last full measure of devotion” the freedoms we used to cherish now seem suddenly to be in jeopardy. It is as if we are on the precipice of ceasing to be Americans due to the assaults by our government on our rights and on our lives.

It has always been the natural state of things for Americans to argue with, disparage, harangue and insult those who make up the government. It is not the natural state of things for the government to stop protecting our right to do this and instead attack us for being in critical disagreement of what it does and how it behaves toward us. Protecting our unalienable rights is after all, the first and most important responsibility of constitutional government toward those it governs.

For years we as Americans have lived in mounting fear of agencies of government such as the IRS who seem to have unfettered power over our lives. A letter from the IRS fills us with dread because we have come to understand that if they accuse us of something we are automatically guilty until we prove ourselves innocent. This is fundamentally and profoundly un-American. When did this happen and more importantly why did we allow it to happen?

Now other instrument of power such as the DOJ, the EPA, OSHA, the FBI, the DOL, the NLRB and others seem to all too frequently, engage in “witch hunts” against political or ideological opponents who publicly disagree with the current regime. This is not the America of Memorial days past. This is not the America that our forefathers worked for and brave patriots died for. This in fact is an insult to their memory. It would be almost sacrilegious to pretend that the fruits of their sacrifice are not in grave peril.

This Memorial day is different because we are in uncharted waters with regard to who we were and we exist in Terra Incognita as to what we want and who we want to be. How we came to this existential identity crisis is part of the struggle we find ourselves in with our nation almost equally divided over these fundamental questions. What is critically important however is that we not allow the relentless assaults on our liberty and freedom to succeed and thereby relegate future Memorial Days to the mere memory of freedom and not freedom being the vibrant center of our lives today and our children’s lives tomorrow.

"Unfortunately, you grew up hearing voices that incessantly warn of government as nothing more than some separate, sinister entity that’s the root of all our problems, even as they do their best to gum up the works, or that tyranny always lurks just around the corner," President Barack Obama Commencement Address Ohio State University five days before the IRS scandal became known.

The love affair between Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and the press may be ending. Even nightmares must one day come to an end and you wake up. The specter of using the IRS to hobble or destroy your political enemies or obtaining the phone records of Associated Press reporters who broke a story on a second failed “underwear bomber” has frightened the press into a semblance of credibility like nothing else that has occurred in this administration. After all the lap dog press had treated this President and his subordinates like royalty. They now feel betrayed and insulted by a President to whom they have given a free pass while he systematically ripped the Constitution to shreds. They are feeling the hot breath of a tyrannical government that they in large part created by being unabashed fans of this man and not objective reporters of his actions and the complaints of his critics whom they dismissed as extremists.

He gave such wonderful speeches…he was our first Black President…he stood for all the right things…all the things they learned in J School about what was wrong with a racist, sexist, homophobic Christian America.

The question becomes will the 4th estate, finally admit that “Fast and Furious”, Obamacare, joblessness, the economy, the budget deficit, debt and spending , actions by the EPA and NLRB, Benghazi, the IRS and the AP at last be acknowledged for what they are…scandals fueled by an ideology so un-American that rational people have been warning the country about it for the last five years of this deplorable regime.

Will they admit that this administration has routinely lied to the American people…distorted the truth about it’s opponents,.. rewrote history when it was politically convenient for them…denied responsibility for everything and any thing that went wrong…and placed the blame for any mistakes on low level officials who always magically operated in a universe of their own without any adult supervision.

This President has wandered for five long years from speech to speech accompanied by an omnipresent set of grinning faces framing the backdrop behind him …all designed to evoke a powerful psychological veracity to those watching him. His shtick has been mythic and hypnotic and it worked because the press refused to do it’s job and thereby gave credence to the spectacle and hence the man. He became the one everybody loved and no one blamed. He had to be saved from all disrepute because he had become such a formidable Avatar for our hopes and dreams even while it had become all too apparent that he could not lead he could only talk. His talking however was designed to turn this country into something it never was and was never met to be.

George Wills said it best in a column on Tuesday in the NY Post when he described what the President said to the graduates at Ohio State University
“He stigmatizes as the vice of cynicism what actually is the virtue of skepticism about the myth that the tentacles of the regulatory state are administered by disinterested operatives. And the voices that annoy him are those of the Founders.”

Barack Obama is the President who was never vetted because he represented the “we who are the ones we have been waiting for“. Hillary Clinton has become the President in waiting for whom all past sins, incompetence and transgressions are to be forgotten or ignored because she is the next transcendental figure to save us from ourselves. Both fantasies are among the most egregious lies of this new century!

THE IRS AND OBAMA MUST GO!

For most of my adult life I like many of my fellow citizens have been intimidated by the IRS. When you get a call or a letter from the IRS it is usually not good news and this agency unlike other Federal agencies, operates on the basis that you are guilty first and then have to prove your innocence. Over time it has evolved or devolved into a truly un-American arm of the Federal government with total discretion over who to audit, intimidate and destroy and we have tolerated it for far too long. No American should live in fear of his or her government or feel that they have no rights when the heavy hand of the government come down on them. No Americans should have their lives destroyed by government for honest mistakes or because of their political, religious or cultural beliefs or affiliations.

As this regime is swallowed up by multiple scandals of their own creation the one involving the IRS is the one who affects most individuals and ultimately may be the one that becomes the most infamous.

In the initial days of what is becoming a crisis for the nation we have learned that the IRS has over the past two election cycles has reportedly done the following.

…Targeted groups and organizations with the buzz words “Tea Party” , “Patriot” or “9/12” in their titles for inordinately lengthy and intrusive reviews with regard to granting them either 501 ( c) (3) or 501 ( c ) (4) tax exempt status. The delays in granting them this status effectively prevented them from performing legal political and educational functions with regard to issues critical to the 2012 Presidential election. The agency issued what was known as a BOLO or “Be On the Lookout For“ order in this regard…

…According to Front Page Magazine… under penalty of perjury “the IRS demanded to know if political candidates participated in public forums They demanded copies of literature distributed at public forums, as well as that published by the groups on their websites. If an organization collected dues, the IRS demanded to know how much, as well as the names of all donors and recipients of grants, a violation of IRS policy. They further insisted on obtaining information, not just about every member of an organization, but their family members as well, including those who had merely considered running for office.”

…. According to the Washington Post, the same report noted that “IRS officials also gave added scrutiny to nonprofit groups that were critical of the government, as well as those that educated Americans about the U.S. Constitution. And the Jewish Press revealed that pro-Israel groups “whose positions were potentially inconsistent with the administration’s” also received additional attention. An IRS agent told the staunchly pro-Israel group Z STREET that because it was “connected to Israel,” it received more scrutiny and that other Israel-related organizations were assigned to “a special unit in the D.C. office to determine whether the organization’s activities contradict the Administration’s public policies.”

…Again according to Front Page, “the Associated Press (the same AP now subject to a controversial FBI phone search on a supposed unrelated matter) obtained a draft of an inspector general’s (IG) report that revealed senior IRS officials knew agents were targeting conservative groups for extra scrutiny as early as 2011...

…Subsequent to these revelations it became known that even more groups were targeted giving extra scrutiny to organizations that were critical of the government in general as well as those who educated the public about the US Constitution, worried about government spending, debt or taxes and even those who lobbied “to make America a better place to live” or who were critical of “big government“ in particular….

…In 2010 an administration official later identified as Austen Goolsbee, told reporters that Koch Industries were cheating on their taxes citing information that could only have come from the IRS. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid claimed during the 2012 campaign that he had information that Mitt Romney hadn’t paid his taxes…information that could only have come from the IRS…

…Accuracy in Media writes that film maker Joel Gilbert who directed the film “Dreams from My Real Father” which takes the position that the real father of Barack Obama was Frank Marshall Davis, an avowed Communist, pornographer and writer who served as Osama’s mentor when he was abandoned by his mother and went to Hawaii to live with his grandparents. was audited by the IRS in 2012 re his 2009 tax returns . The IRS denied all his business expenses even though they were well documented. The IRS then allegedly acquired information regarding his customers who purchased the film and passed the information to left wing journalist Seth Rosenfeld who “began targeting customers who bought large quantities of the film”. Rosenfeld works for the “Center for Investigative Reporting (CIR) which is funded by George Soros

…According to Breitbart, the progressive group “Pro Publica” asked the IRS for files of 67 different organizations who had been approved for non profit status. The IRS sent Pro Publica documentation for 31 organizations including 9 applications which had not been approved which is against the law. These illegally received documents included donor information which “Pro Publica” redacted for 6 of the documents and made them public. “Pro Publica” is also funded by Soros. The organizations that were included in this batch were “Crossroads GPS” founded by Karl Rove, “Americans for Responsible Leadership”, “Freedom Path”, “Rightchange.com II”, “America is not Stupid”, “A Better America Now”, the “Citizen Awareness Project”, the “YG Network” and “SecureAmericaNow.org”. No information on liberal or progressive entities were sent to “Pro Publica”…

…WND reports that Dr. James Dobson the head of “ Family Talk Action” and a leader of Evangelical Christians in the US and the author of 30 books had his 501 ( c ) (4) application denied and was told by IRS reviewing agent R. Medley (ID # 52402) that the application was being denied because “Family Talk Action is not educational” and sounded like a “partisan right-wing group” because it “only represented conservative viewpoints”.

…USA TODAY reported on May 16, 2013 that. -- “In a blistering letter to President Barack Obama, the Rev. Franklin Graham said the IRS targeted the two non-profits he heads with an audit last year after the organizations took out ads urging people to support biblical principles on marriage and in choosing political candidates.
In the letter, dated Tuesday, Graham said in light of recent revelations that the Internal Revenue Service targeted conservative groups with "tea party" or "patriot" in their names, he does not believe the audit was "a coincidence — or justifiable." Graham, son of famed Christian evangelist the Rev. Billy Graham, now heads the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association based in Charlotte, N.C., and Samaritan's Purse, a worldwide relief organization…”

,,,Newsmax reports that no Tea Party applications were approved for a 27 month period beginning in February 2010 but the following “Progressive” organizations were approved:
“Bus for Progress”
“Missourians Organizing for Reform and Empowerment”
“Progress Florida”
and the Barack H. Obama Foundation run by the President’s half-brother “Abongo “Roy” Malik Obama. This last entity was raising money illegally since 2008 and was given a “retroactive “ exemption from June 2011 to December 2008...

Newsmax also reported that weeks after Obama was elected President in 2008, “Catholic League” president Bill Donohue was notified that the League was being audited by the IRS. This followed on the heels of a news release stating that the Catholic left was being funded by George Soros. This audit was instigated by the same left wing Catholic organizations funded by Soros…

…CAN/EWTN News reports that two pro life groups, “Coalition for Life of Iowa” and “Christian Voices for Life” were withheld tax exempt status because they refused to consent to an IRS demand that they send the IRS a letter that they “do not picket/protest or organize groups to to picket/protest outside of Planned Parenthood” The Coalition was also asked by the IRS to disclose the content of their members prayers…

…WND reports that Wayne Allyn Root, a candidate for Vice-President on the Libertarian Party ticket in 2008 and a person who was at Columbia University as a pre-law and political science major along with Barack Obama was audited in a series of audits beginning in January 2011. Root , an author, critic of Obama and frequent guests on radio and TV talk shows has asserted that Obama was unknown to him and as many as 400 other classmates he has canvassed.. Root is outspoken in believing and stating that he believes that Obama is both a tyrant and a Marxist…

WND, the O’Reilly Factor and the WSJ also reported that in 2012 billionaire and Romney National Finance Co-Chair Frank VanderSloot was targeted for investigations by both the IRS and the Labor Department after he gave $1 million to a Super Pac supporting Mitt Romney. Mr. VanderSloot was subjected to four separate audits and was cleared in all four. Ironically it turned out that the IRS owed Mr. Vander loot a refund which he has yet to receive. In addition Las Vegas Casino owner and GOP supporter Sheldon Adelson reported that a politically motivated criminal investigation was initiated against him while Casino operator and Obama critic Steve Wynn and investor Louis Bacon were also investigated…

…USA TODAY and Gretawire also reported that ‘In March of 2012 the Human Rights Campaign published a confidential tax return of the National Organization for Marriage, which was immediately republished by The Huffington Post and other liberal news media outlets. The HRC and NOM are the leading national groups on opposing sides of the fight over gay marriage. HRC wants to redefine marriage to make it genderless, while NOM wishes to preserve marriage as the union of one man and one woman.” While confidential donor information was redacted it was possible to bypass the redaction and expose this confidential information to the public“…

…The WSJ reported that “Secure America Now” (SAN) a conservative organization that promotes national security related to North Korea, Iran, Israel and Libya, has had it’s 501 ( c ) (4 ) tax exempt status delayed since April 2011. In 2012 the IRS intensified it’s examination of SAN after the group produced a video seen by up to four million people that was critical of how Obama handled the Benghazi crisis. Despite the IRS IG stating that organizations like SAN were illegally targeted, the IRS has still refused to grant the exemption…

…The WSJ also reported that up to 9 Democratic Senators had sent letters or made public comments, beginning as early as September 2010, urging the IRS to intensify the screenings of conservative organizations who were applying for not for profit status. Theses Senators included Chuck Schumer, Al Franken, Carl Levin, Max Baucus, Michael Bennet, Jeff Merkley, Jeanne Shaheen, Tom Udall and Sheldon Whitehouse…

…The Weekly Standard reports that the IRS deliberately kept the information concerning these activities, from the public and the Congress until after the 2012 election. The then IRS Commissioner Douglas Shulman, seemingly deliberately lied to Congress who had specifically questioned him on whether or not these policies were in existence…

…The American Spectator reports that the IRS is being sued by a medical company in California for stealing more than 60 million medical records involving at least one million Californians in the course of investigating a case involving only a tax matter…

…The American Spectator in a major article by Jeffrey Lord reports in detail about the NTEU , the National Treasury Employees Union , a left wing union that represents 150,000 employees in 31 federal agencies including the IRS. 94% of it’s contributions go to Democrats including Tammy Baldwin in Wisconsin, Joe Donnelly in Indiana, Claire McCaskill in Missouri, House minority leader Nancy Pelosi and House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer All of these politicians ran as anti Tea Party candidates. This begs the question as to who worked on this policy within the IRS or on the IG’s report and were they members of this rabidly anti Tea Party public sector union?…

At the House Ways and Means hearing on this scandal held on Friday May 17, 2013 the Department of the Treasury /IRS inspector General J. Russell George disclosed that the upper echelon leadership of Treasury knew about the audits of Conservative Organizations as early as June 4, 2012. If this is true then Barack Obama broke the law in the same way that Richard Nixon did since it would be inconceivable that the White House if not the Obama Campaign had to know about much if not all of the above. If they did not then this President is the most incompetent in history.

At the present time the IRS official, Attorney Sarah Hall Ingram who directly oversaw this operation was given four bonuses worth $103, 390 which many believe could only have been approved directly by Barack Obama himself. Her reward for presided over what may be the most criminal domestic conspiracy in American History is to be the newly appointed head of the IRS “Obamacare “ enforcement office . As such she will have an army of 16,000 IRS agents whose only responsibility will be to micromanage your health care and punish you if you don’t do what they tell you to do.

This must never happen! The IRS must be stripped of any role in Obamacare and in fact must be shut down and designated as a criminal enterprise under the RICO statute. It is now an ideal time to dramatically change the Tax Code, eliminate the IRS in it’s entirety, prosecute and convict everyone involved in this disgusting affair and impeach Barack Obama before we lose the country forever. The IRS outgoing Commissioner Steven Miller summed up the state of affairs in the IRS and the Obama Administration when he told the Ways and Means Committee to gasps of disbelief, that nothing the IRS did was illegal.

Based on her record of lies why should anyone believe anything Hillary Clinton says and on Benghazi in particular?

The revelations of the testimony before the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform on Wednesday shows that Hillary Clinton may be one of the most duplicitous politicians in American history and that Barack Obama is a hack from Chicago who went to sleep while brave men died half a world away. When the dust clears from Benghazi, Hillary is going to look like any other sleazy politician from New York waiting for her subpoena. If Obama gave the stand down orders to relieve the attack in Benghazi and then covered it up he should be impeached.

Hillary Clinton went before the Congress last January after months of evasion and said when asked about why and how the debacle of Benghazi happened “what difference, at this point, does it make” and then she went on to immediately state what is important is that we find out what happened so we can make sure it never happens again. Does every body understand this …she is saying it doesn’t matter why this happened because we have to find out why it happened. This is classic “Clintonspeak” at it’s most bizarre.

The Wednesday hearings along with other press reports have opened up a whole new line of inquiry for a select committee with the power to compel witnesses to testify. The questions include:

BEFORE THE EVENT

If Hillary Clinton wanted to make Benghazi a permanent consulate why was security continuously reduced despite pleas for more security?

Was Hillary Clinton the only official could reject these requests?

What was the mission of the CIA Annex and was the State Dept involved in arms transfers to the rebels in Syria?

DURING THE ATTACK

Who gave the multiple stand down orders for Special Ops forces to relive the attack and isn‘t POTUS the only one who can issue such orders?

Why weren’t there armed over flights sent to Benghazi and if no F-16s were not available why not?

Why did an anonymous Special Ops operative with real time information say on Fox News that none of the above explanations by the government is true?

Why wasn’t the second Special Forces team led by Lt. Col Gibson sent from Tripoli along with the first team led by Glen Doherty?

Where is Gibson now?

Why weren’t the two predator drones flying over Benghazi armed?

Why did the Special Ops team who rescued the Ambassador‘s body from the Ansar al-Sharia controlled hospital have to do this on their own initiative?

Where was the President when this 7 to 9 hour attack was going down?

Why was FEST team (Foreign Emergency Response Team) deployment taken off the table at the beginning of the attack?

Why wasn’t Mark I. Thompson, a former Marine and the deputy coordinator for Operations in the agency’s Counterterrorism Bureau in charge of the FEST teams not included in the decision making process with regard to how to respond to the attack?

AFTER THE ATTACK

Where are the survivors now?

Who in the White House and/or the State Department were responsible for changing the talking points 12 times? What was Victoria Nuland’s role in this?

Did Valarie Jarrett, David Axelrod, John Brennan, Tom Donilon, James Clapper or Jay Carney involved in this deception?

Why did Clinton immediately adopt the “video” narrative the next day despite an e-mail from Acting Assistant Secretary for Near Eastern Affairs Beth Jones to the contrary?

Why was Gregory Hicks severely criticized by Jones for questioning why Hillary Clinton did this?

Why did Jones later try and ruin Hick’s professional life by demoting him while issuing a blistering negative evaluation for a career diplomat who had a heretofore unblemished career?

Why did Cheryl Mills the Chief of Staff for Hillary Clinton, a woman who was a defense attorney for President Bill Clinton during his impeachment and who later served as counsel to the 2008 Hillary Clinton Presidential campaign forbid Hicks and others from speaking with Rep Jason Chaffetz with out a State Department lawyer present, when Chaffetz went to Libya on a Congressional fact finding mission?

Who was that lawyer?

Who ordered Mills and Jones to do any of the above?

Why did UN Ambassador Susan Rice not attempt to determine if the talking points she presented on television on September 16, 2012 were the truth particulary in light of the fact that Libyan President Margariaf was saying on that same day it was a terrorist attack?

Why wasn’t Thompson, Clinton or any of the survivors ever interviewed by the Accountability Review Board (ARM) established by Clinton?

Why did the attorneys for the three whistleblowers not receive appropriate security clearance from the State Department so they could properly advise their clients?

Make no mistake about it. This is the worst scandal and cover-up in American History and cannot be swept under the rug with more lies, spin and avoidance. It is disgusting to note that the NY Daily News did not have one mention of the hearing the next day and that CBS has reportedly tried to muzzle Sheryl Attkisson  re this story!

Abraham Lincoln once said “You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time.” The futures of Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama will put this wisdom to it’s greatest test! Lets pray after living under lying politicians for far too long… lying is not only what we have come to expect but something we secretly demand from them…Lie to Me!

 These sentiments are not mine . They are from a column by Dr. Muhammad Nahed Al-Kuwaiz printed in Al-Riyadh newspaper in Saudi Arabia directly after the Boston bombings. If Saudis are now calling for an end to the Jihad and calling it by it’s real name of terrorism by Muslims why can‘t this President and his minions?

Secular progressives worship at the shrine of linguistic obfuscation! Theirs is a world of propaganda and not of fact. It is a land of myth designed to sway public opinion and not serve public needs. As this administration and their media vassals refused to call Islamic terrorism by it’s true name they hand our enemies a victory and empower them to commit future attacks. This make us all ignorant of who are enemies are and what danger they pose for us. Sun Tzu once said “If ignorant both of your enemy and yourself, you are certain to be in peril.”

We have text books in our schools today that teach our children that groups like “Hamas” and “Hezbollah” are mere political parties and not the named terrorists organization that the Intelligence Community have declared them to be. The FBI has purged it’s field manuals of any reference of Muslims and terror. The “Global War on Terror” has become “Overseas Contingency Operations”. The list of how we are told to deny reality increases daily despite the growing world wide body count in Africa, the Magreb, the Levant, Central and South East Asia, Europe and the Americas.

PC tyranny in thought and speech have us on the verge of declaring the Boston bombing to be “sports venue violence” just as Fort Hood was “workplace violence”. This administration has a narrative that it is increasingly desperate to preserve. Like Benghazi before it, Boston must not be seen as Islamic terrorism because if it is, then the Potemkin Village of a world of no Muslim terror will be exposed for the deadly fraud it is and this administrations agendas of appeasement of terrorist states accompanied by the dismantling of our national defense and national security capabilities cannot go forward.

For the progressive left who are the greatest allies the Jihad has ever had as well as the fifth column for Political Islam both here and abroad, acts of terror are simply crimes committed by lone wolves or demonstrations that get out of control provoked by things we, the American people and our government, have done to them the terrorists. They then justify their acts of murder because of their status of victim hood. Muslim terror in this age of “soft targets” is the evil that dares not speak it’s name. If we do not wake up, call this evil for what it is and demand that Islam clean up it’s act or we will, it will be the end of western civilization as we know it.
