WHERE IS JAMES BUCHANAN WHEN WE REALLY NEED HIM?

 

 

Historians for years have believed that James Buchanan our 15th President was our worst President?  That is no longer so...our 44th President, Barack Obama is the worst and most destructive president we have ever had.

 

Since his election in 2008, we have been brainwashed into believing what we read, hear, see and know to be true is not so.  We have been conned into believing that if we accuse this President and this administration of systematically and deliberately sabotaging the Constitution, the economy, our national security and the culture, we will be labled as madmen and racists. So we undergo vicious and relentless assaults for advocating for Constitutional Federalism, limited government, individual rights and liberties, equality under the law and the protection and preservation of our most sacred values.

 

Barack Obama is a true step-child of Saul Alinsky as is the woman who wants to succeed him...Hillary Clinton.They both demonize their enemies and never let a rational and factual national discussions take place on any vital issue before us.  They are not about solving problems.  They are about keeping racial and class grievances alive.

 

 

Because the Democrat Party is now nothing more than a collection of left wing victim groups with narrow and radical agendas, they are able to mount multiple attacks simultaneously using a host of issues that are usually not substantive but instead emotional and distracting.   In these efforts they have the willing collaboration of most of the so called "main stream" press and media.  The party of Barack  Obama and Saul Alinsky means to scare the hell out of guileless Americans on a daily basis.

 

Republicans and conservatives have not been able to mount

an effective counter offensive or use social media and the internet as potent strategic and tactical weapons to deliver truth and facts to the American people.

 

As a consequence, we are deluged with lies, distortions and ad hominem attacks designed to make the average person confused and misinformed.

 

The same strategies are being used in our schools and universities turning future generations into ignorant, ideologically driven zealots who hate this country and everything it has always stood for.

 

And then to make matters worse, the self designated arbiters of the culture, proceed like Atilla the Hun to destroy and degrade our traditions and values all in the name of progress.

 

 

Some examples of these efforts...

 

Democratic politicians want our schools  to give 11 year old girls the morning after pill without their parents knowledge or consent...

 

Secular progressives want to hinder or prevent the police from taking the illegal weapons of drug dealers and 'gangbangers' off the streets while making it close to impossible for honest citizens to arm and protect themselves and their loved ones from the savagery that is about to occur in cities like NYC across the nation... 

 

Racism is reduced to mean only white on black crimes, even when it can't be proved, while black on white crime is consistently described as non racial in origin... yet

only 10% think race relations are better since Barack Obama has become President...

 

Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security are going broke and this President want to do nothing except raise taxes and accuse Republicans of hating the poor and pushing Grandmothers in wheelchairs off a cliff...

 

Obama pushed through a one party radical overhaul of the Health Insurance System which will leave 30 million person uninsured, cause others to lose their coverage and their jobs while delivering unaffordable and less effective healthcare to all but the Congress, the bureaucracy and the wealthy...

 

Only 53% of all Americans are working today which is the lowest number in 30 years...

 

"Four of five U.S. adults struggle with joblessness, near poverty, or reliance on Government for at least part of their lives ...

 

Median household income is 8.1 percent lower than in 2007...

 

There were 46.2 million Americans living in poverty in the United States in 2011, the largest number of persons counted as poor in the 53 years of poverty measurements...further, 6.6 percent of the population, or 20.4 million people, lived in deep poverty, defined as living 50 percent below the poverty line...

 

More than half of these 46 million Americans  were black or Hispanic while 19 million whites fell below the poverty line for a family of four, accounting for 41 percent of the nation’s poor, nearly twice the number of poor African-Americans.

 

 

From 2009 to 2011, the mean net worth of households in the upper 7 percent of the wealth distribution rose by an estimated 28 percent while those in the lower 93 percent dropped by 4 percent...

 

47.6 Americans are enrolled in SNAP/Food Stamps as of May 2013...

 

The number of workers “not in the labor force” has increased to 88.3 million in 2012,..

 

 Seven out of eight jobs, created under President Obama have been part-time jobs...
 

The U.S. home-ownership rate is back to where it was 18 years ago in 1995, at 65 percent in the second quarter of 2013...
 
Student debt totaled $994 billion as of June 30, up from $440 billion in 2008...
 
On Jan. 19, 2009,  the price of regular retail gasoline in the U.S. averaged $1.847 a gallon... on Aug. 12, 2013, the price of regular retail gas averaged $3.561 a gallon because Climate change has become a secular national religion preached by this President and  preventing us from becoming free of OPEC and their energy black mail...

Obama’s continued series of annual federal budget deficits in the range of $1 trillion has increased the national debt more than 50 percent since he has been office, from a total of $11.9 trillion in fiscal 2009 to a current estimated total of $18.2 trillion in fiscal 2014."*

This president has consistently ignored the Congress, the States, the law and the courts and the people...

He does not seek equal opportunity for we the people... instead he demands equal outcomes...

He has systematically weakened and reduced our military and intelligence forces and made us unsafe, weak and unreliable to our allies as witnessed by his dangerous and absurd Foreign Policy initiatives for Libya, Egypt, Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, Central Europe and Central Asia, and East Asia...

He has used the agencies of government to spy on us, persecute us, prosecute us when unwarranted and not prosecute crimes when justice demands it ...

His administration has deliberately leaked top secret information regarding this country and our allies to our enemies for nothing more than sheer political gain ...

He stood by and did nothing while Americans died in Benghazi and then went on a fundraising junket the next day.  To this day he has never brought anyone to justice for this predictable terrorist attack nor made anyone accountable in his administration...

He has denied American Citizens the equal protection of the law and violated his oath of office by not preserving and protecting the Constitution or faithfully executing the laws of the United States...

His has been a Presidency of revenge and vindictiveness.  He seeks to make government all powerful and able to control everything we say, do and ultimately think...

He is not only the worst and most dangerous President in history... he is also the most wretched... substituting vapid  campaign oratory  for leadership in between endless golf and vacations over the last five years.  This President and his  Party has begun a systematic dismantling of the United States so profound that only those who choose to ignore it can  deny his intentions and objectives.

He is the celebrity king of superficiality while masquerading as the greatest statesman of the age.  He is not a true President but merely plays one on TV. 

There is something subversive and childlike about this President that makes him as dangerous as a teenage boy locked in a windowless room with Miley Cyrus, a loaded gun and some ectasy and everyone  who chooses to ignore the reality before them, should wake the hell up before we lose not only the country but our minds and our souls.

 FAUST IN AMERICA ?

 

 

I was born the son of a working man and I shall die the son of a working man.  I can't help it.  It is not only in my genes but seared deep into my soul.

 

My father was an immigrant and my mothers people were here since the early seventeenth century.  Throughout my life I have straddled the great American class divide with a foot in both American stories that have made up our history.

 

I grew up in a typical American factory small town of the past.  This was a place where the rich, the poor, the working poor and the middle class lived cheek to jowl with one another.  We went to school together, worshiped together and essentially grew up together.  Our lives however different because of wealth and position, were not foreign or alien to one another.  Any resentment we might have had regarding those with more would be settled academically or on the sports field where we were all equal.  The only members of the Jewish faith in my small town were my neighbors.  My scoutmaster was a black man, his son was the first person I ever wrestled competitively and my Aunt integrated our First Baptist Church when the Black Baptist Church  burnt down. 

 

My parents taught my brothers and I that we were neither better nor worse than any one else and that in America our future would be what we determined and not what anyone else determined it to be.   I didn't know it at the time but I was a very lucky fellow to have had the upbringing I had.

 

When I was 20,  I went off to New York City to finish my education and find my destiny.  The NYC of the early sixties was still the old New York of tribes, enclaves and neighborhoods which had epitomised the city for years like a long running Broadway play.  This was the New York that reinvented itself every 20 years in order to accommodate the latest group of refugees from the rest of the world and yet retained the basic values that served as the glue to keep everything from flying apart.  The artists also came here to paint, compose, write, act, sing, perform and change the culture with the passionate verve that only the talented driven by the addiction to create can understand.  The edge of the envelope was NYC and it was glorious.

 

I did not know when I first arrived here 50 years ago that I was witnessing the death of one NY and the birth of another.  Today the NY where I first learned to love Jewish, Italian, Chinese, Puerto Rican and Soul food (plus every other kind known to man) , Jazz, Opera, great art and literature, theatre, film, Major League Baseball, politics and the 24/7/365 beat of  city life in rhythm to the hip and the cool is  gone, replaced with the scream of a city on speed that is less diverse class wise and race wise than it was when I first came.

 

The egalitarianism is largely gone...the Public School system  where I briefly taught is in decrepitude laid low by a union at war with the children it is supposed to teach and their parents.  Tax payers are fleeing because housing and everything else has become unaffordable to the majority.  The newcomers must live by necessity in the so called "Outer Boroughs" because they earn at a fraction of what those who left made.

 

This last Sunday the Daily News in a two page opinion piece by Richard Florida, Director of the Martin Prosperity Institute at the University of Toronto entitled "Rich Man, Poor Man, ANGRY MAN" chronicled the new NYC which is threatened with losing its last greatest asset ...being the safest big city in the world due to politicians who are "progressive" racial arsonists and  who over time have spent us into perdition.

 

The city has become what Mayoral Candidate Bill deBlasio calls "A Tale of Two Cities" with those who can make it in finance, law, media, advertising, publishing, entertainment and info tech are doing well and virtually everyone else is relegated  to areas such as food prep,health care support and personal care which account for " almost half of all new jobs added in the tri-state region since 2009".  In most of the five boroughs including parts of Manhattan, 75% "toil in service jobs with salaries averaging $25,000 or less".  The high paying jobs are concentrated in Manhattan with "80% in lower Manhattan and ajacent parts of Brooklyn". " "25% of all adult workers in Brooklyn and 20% of those in the Bronx have jobs that pay less than $10 an hour". 

 

Welfare here with all its major programs added up is at present  worth $38,004 for a single mother of two.  This is after tax income and it makes working or even striving to work unattractive to someone who consciously knows that they will be financially less well off with a job than on the dole.   They are like a rabbit caught in a trap baited with food and the other "stuff" that Government now gives away.  

 

Manufacturing and  maritime/dock work now is barely visible, and even small business, the engine of any economic growth, is under continuous assault by a rapacious government bent on sucking every last penny out of them until they too disappear into a mist called the good old days.

 

All of this is occurring while NYC is experiencing a boom that has attracted  360,000 new jobs since the recession and "high tech start ups " worth $2 billion.  The worst part of this new NYC is that the so called "rich" are concentrating in certain areas and the so called "non rich"  live every where else. 

 

No longer are the neighborhoods or the civic culture integrating the economic classes.  We are becoming ghettoized according to our economic station in life... our zip codes are becoming the predictors of our futures as class stratification, hardens and ossifies.  "Upstairs, Downstairs" has come to America. 

 

NYC is also reflecting this dynamic as it spreads through out  the rest of the country as documented in "Coming Apart: The State of White America, 1960-2010" by Charles Murray.   Niall Ferguson in his review of the book described it  as such "Murray meticulously chronicles and measures the emergence of two wholly distinct classes: a new upper class, first identified in The Bell Curve as "the cognitive elite," and a new "lower class," which he is too polite to give a name. And he vividly localizes his argument by imagining two emblematic communities: Belmont, where everyone has at least one college degree, and Fishtown, where no one has any."

 

 All of this is grist for the mill of class warfare as practiced with elan by this President and his acolytes.  By keeping the economy from growing while real worth declines, we are now in a perfect storm of "haves and have nots" where class and race resentment will drive people to the party of government which will continue to delude them with demagoguery,  bread and circuses and not real, tangible opportunity.  None of this is by accident.

 

All of this is by design. It is "Hobbsian" in origin, but where the state will guarantee that  while life may be nasty and brutish in comparison with the educated elites, it will not be short unless of course you become too expensive or too old to save if you become ill.

 

The record of this Progressive President is dismal at best and intentionally destructive at worst..to wit:

These  have become the real results of the real agenda of today's Democratic Party which is a "Faustian bargain" between power brokers and special interests who evangelize the outwardly "noble" sentiments of the "Progressive religion" while exempting themselves from its rules and consequences.  In the end these architects of the end of equality in America really only represent themselves as they attempt to control our lives and our destinies.  We have been divided...we have not divided ourselves!

Hillary Clinton is high flying, adored and will become "Madam President" according to Senator Claire McCaskill at a recent event of the same name hosted by Emily's List in Iowa.

 

We have apparently entered an age of "firsts" with Obama as our first black President.  Now apparently it is the intention of the elites who rule us to run the table with Hillary as the first woman President followed by our first Latino/Latina, our first Gay or Lesbian and our first Trans-gendered POTUS, the latter who if from California, will be allowed to use what ever public restroom in the White House they seem inclined to need on any particular day.  This if for nothing else will add a touch of spice to those on White House tours, provided those tours of the "Peoples House"  have resumed.

 

NBC and CNN have planned a docu-drama and a documentary about

Hillary causing the Republicans to cry foul when they simply should demand that each film  truthfully include "Hillarycare", White Water, the Rose Law Firm billing records, Vince Foster, "Travelgate", cattle futures, Chinese money, Marc Rich, Lewinsky, Flowers etc, the "Russian Reset" and Benghazi in all their dubious glory.   A blue dress with a stain could provide a suitable backdrop for either film with the stain forming the dot for the "i" in "Hillary" superimposed over the dress.

 

 

This former "Goldwater Girl" who discovered Saul Alinsky and then Bill Clinton...a sequence which should have sent her into therapy instead of the Arkansas Governors Mansion and then the White House, remains a riddle wrapped in a mystery shrouded in an enigma.

 

After the White House she migrated to New York where she was elected U. S. Senator as a prelude to her coronation as President.  This caused her co-Senator, Chuck Schumer much angst and agita since she had this nasty habit of sucking the oxygen out of every room they shared making it impossible for Schumer to talk non stop without taking a breath.

 

In the run up to 2008 she seemed unbeatable.  She had now spent 16 years as First Lady/Co-President and Senator, telling us constantly that "she would be very good " for us.  Then from out of left field came the man with dreams from his father and suddenly Hillary ceased to be inevitable and Bill ended the campaign disliking Obama so much that he begged Hillary in 2012 to run against him because he was such an "Amateur"

 

By then she had been Secretary of State for four years with frequent flyer credits for over a million miles as she traveled to almost every country on the globe on a "Rainbow Tour" that produced little in the way of substance, but much in carbon emissions.

 

Benghazi became her swan song after she had, with other macho women, forced the "henpecked" President to take a forceful stance on Libya , even if he chose to do it from behind...her.  Her subsequent abysmal performance on 09/11/2012 made her earlier bellicosity all the more discordant as she squirmed and wiggled her way out of being thrown under the bus for what amounted to gross incompetence and worse, as brave men died on her watch.

 

She then let U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice lie like her husband to the nation over what happened in Benghazi and why, on five networks on Sunday September 16th.  Prior to this she had been the first to to declare that the "Video" was the cause of the attack and even had the ill grace to promise the relatives of the slain Americans that the maker of that video would be caught and punished.

 

Finally in 2013, Congress corralled her for a hearing to determine what happened in Benghazi and why... at which she now famously declared "At this point what difference does it make...we have to find out what happened and why"  Huh?  This was vintage Clinton (take your pick of which one)!

 

Now she is busy getting questionably richer off of philanthropic dollars at the "Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton Foundation" and the  "Clinton Global Initiative, according to a Wednesday New York Times expose.  Simultaneously she  makes inflammatory speeches about voter suppression of black voters because even with a highly publicized lunch with "O" in the Rose Garden that has been widely interpreted as a tacit endorsement of her 2016 run  to become  his successor, this does not make her or "Bubba" trust that the "Bam" will deliver his core voters to her when she needs them.

 

In 1848  Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Lucretia Coffin Mott, Martha Coffin Wright, and others organized an influential Women's Rights Convention, also known as the Seneca Falls Convention, at the Wesleyan Methodist Chapel in Seneca Falls N.Y. where a "Declaration of Sentiments" was adopted.  Later Susan B. Anthony joined with Stanton to form the "Women's Temperance Movement" which became over time  the modern Woman's Rights Movement.

 

All of these great Americans had a vision that one day not only would women have the vote but that  a woman would also lead the country.  I believe they envisioned someone with the rock solid integrity of an American Maggie Thatcher and not the cultlike celebrity of an American Eva Peron to be the torchbearer.  But in order for Hillary to play  that torchbearer, she needs to be transformed into  the culmination of the dream and not the continuation of the nightmare that her past has been.  To do this it is not inconceivable that yet a third movie about Hillary will have to be made called "Desperately Seeking Susan B. Anthony" where the Hillary character would sing:

"Don't cry for me Liz and Susan

The truth is that now I need you

All through my Wild Bill days

My mad existence

I stayed on message

Don't keep your distance

because to win

All I need is for the Money to keep rolling in!"

The next president we elect has to scare half the world.   The half who hates us! And it has to be done to preserve a true peace with our freedoms and unalienable rights intact.

 

Since 9/11/2001 we have spent$1.461,780,254,414 on the wars on terror in Iraq and Afghanistan. When you add in indirect costs that figure grows to $2.4 trillion because we borrowed money to fight these wars  We have lost 6,745 in this effort to date and we have suffered 51,303.wounded and all of this will cost us more money down through the years because that is the terrible nature of war.

 

Despite all of this we are no closer to ending the scourge of Islamic terror then we were on 9/12/2001, no matter what Obama says.

 

The recent jailbreaks and release programs in seven Islamic countries plus our own idiotic releases of detainees from "Gitmo" and the Jihadists in Syria have put up to 17,000 potential mujahadin or shaheeds back on the battlefield or ready for acts of terror.

 

This and the false narrative that Al Quaeda is "on the run"has  directly led to a potential month long close down of 19 embassies from the Maghreb to the Levant to Central Asia and sub-Saharan Africa. 

 

12 years after the WTC, we still disgrace ourselves by by our abject surrender of our 4th amendment rights at airports and public buildings by taking off  our shoes, our belts and worse to a policy that can best be described as safety via humiliation. They do everything but put us in restraints and whip us and then we snicker when we learn that the most popular read at "Gitmo" by the prisoners today is "50 Shades of Grey"!

 

We leave Iraq precipitously and plan to do the same in Afghanistan knowing the battle is not over and the war is not won making our sacrifice of blood and treasure a mockery.

 

According to the Obama administration Major Hasan, a soldier of Allah,  committed  acts of workplace violence not of terror even though he admitted the same in the name of Allah and thereby the families of those he killed and those he wounded are denied vital benefits because we do not want to acknowledge that Islamic terror here or abroad is real.

 

Since WW II, we have not fought a  major war in order to achieve total victory and we have paid a heavy price for this .  Viet Nam became a PC war and every war thereafter became a worse PC war.  Only "Operations Desert Shield and Operation Desert Sword" seemed to  escape this fate due in no small part to the decision not to take out Saddam Hussein at a time when Iran, Russia and China and al Quaeda were not nearly as strong as they became directly before and  during the years after 2001.

 

When  war becomes politically correct, judgements of good and evil  become "verboten" and so do. by extension, the concept of destroying evil by complete and final victory.

 

We and the world need the Jihadist/ Salafist/ Wahabist/ Iranian goal of a world wide Caliphate by militant Islam to be completely and utterly destroyed.  Their adherents need to be destroyed, their enablers need to be destroyed, their funders need to be destroyed,  their fellow travelers on the progressive left need to be destroyed and the countries who harbor these monsters and allow their terror to grow and fester must be put on notice that if they continue doing this, they too will be destroyed!

 

No American or any other freedom loving person should be put in harms way if the goal and objective of the fight is not total victory!

 

This does not mean that our strength should lie in a desire to kill our enemies because we have the power and means to, but rather it should reside  in their absolute belief that  we will do so even against our values and our nature and our morality if they continue to try to either enslave or kill us. 

 

We now face multiple enemies in multiple theatres of war.   Some like the terrorists want to wage asymmetrical wars of attrition designed to make us surrender our liberties for a false sense of security.  When we do this they win.

 

Others are more conventional nation/state enemies like China, Russia, North Korea, and Iran who often operate against us via proxy belligerents or economic warfare.  Some of these  nation/states support terrorism because it meets their objectives.  They too must understand that that the U.S. and the other democracies need them to stand down or be obliterated because their actions represent an existential threat to human rights and human freedom.

 

Any act of weakness on our part...apology tours... imaginary red lines with imaginary consequences...unilateral disarmament...man caused disasters... overseas contingency operations...caving in to threats when our national security and those of our allies are imperiled by our inaction or our acquiescence...withdrawal from the struggle by leading from behind... all signal our mortal enemies that we have retreated, surrendered and worse that this President actually believes what they say about us.

 

The entire world understands that the free world can extricate itself from its dependency on energy from those who wish to conquer them and sees only weakness when  the free world declines to do so.

 

We are not a war mongering people no matter what the freedom hating left or the Jihadists or the Communists say.  Our freedom however has been bought with both blood and resolve.  Blood without resolve is obscene and resolve without unfortunately  the potential of blood is a fairy tale for children.

 

"Is vis pacem, para bellum" said Publius Flavius Vegetius Renatus... "if you want peace, prepare for war".  I would only add to prepare for war to subdue and vanquish our enemies and all those who would aide and assist them.  They do not understand anything but brute force and the unshakable will to use it as a last resort.

 

And when they try to use our own values against us, it would be wise for both us and them  to remember that freedom of speech ends when you yell fire in a crowded theater and freedom of religion ends when you yell Jihad in a crowded Mosque!

 

The next President has to by his or her acts, words or deeds scare the hell out of those who hate us and want us dead. The only ones who the next president needs to fear and respect are we the people whose servant he or she will be.   It is way past the time to remind ourselves and our foes that war is hell but the phoney peace that has been inflicted on us by us is worse. Freedom without real liberties, a phoney security and a sword over your neck is just another name as the song says "for nothing left to lose".

No rational person knows what Lewis Carrol was saying in this famous poem.  Only we who are addicted to politics and the denizens of the District of Columbia and other political "gulags" claim to understand it. 

This is because politics through the ages has been for the most part, more insane than sane, more sordid than sublime, more shameless than inspirational and more cynical than altruistic.  The moments when "homo politicus"rises to levels which transforms the business of politics to the art of politics or to that which has clarity, occur, but seem few and far between.

 

The current age seems intent on surpassing the worse days of the Roman Republic.  Washington is the epicenter where all the clutter and detritus of an ego driven society rules us from an alternative universe.  Here sometimes decent men and women enter for good reasons and then rarely leave, usually for bad reasons.

 

The inter-net/social media/24/7/365 news cycle age  has spawned an era of information overload where the trite, the important, the ominous and the decadent have been blended into a witches brew of impressions that leave no impression on many of us except what the lords of information want to imprint on our minds and our emotions.

 

We are drowning in a sea of distractions...an ocean of moral and political relativism where everything is designed to be as important as everything else.

 

President Obama has recently called the scandals of "Fast and Furious" where people died, Benghazi...where people died, the IRS in all it's wicked manifestations, the AP/Fox News abridgement of the First Amendment, the NSA with its frightening Fourth Amendment implications, the breakdown of vital services for our Veterans through incompetence or worse, the ongoing disintegration of "Obamacare" which threatens both  the economic and physical health of most of America, Solyndra and its numerous boondoggle relatives and more ...as phoney scandals.

 

It is though he believes by issuing this pronouncement he can make these situations go away by granting political absolution to the  villains behind them.  He did this in order to once again "pivot"to the economy with a series of deja vu speeches  intended to drum up class resentment toward the rich on behalf of the poor and middle class or soon to be poor.

 

Obama decries the growing disparity of income between the wealthy and everyone else and declares it the central issue of the day while ignoring and failing to mention that all of this inequality occurred on his watch.  Worse, he goes off on yet another vacation at a $7.46 million mansion designed for the rich and famous leaving his disingenuous message mangled and lost in the contrails of Air force One. 

 

The people harmed by these "phoney" scandals he proclaims seem not to be of concern to a man who has become the lamest of ducks when in normal political time it should  not yet be "duck" season.

 

Obama sees the pie called the economy as finite.  He seems oblivious to the fact that it is possible metaphorically " to bake a larger pie'.  Growing the economy would necessitate a recognition of capitalism,  I suppose!

 

Today four out of five Americans face joblessness, welfare and/or near poverty in their lifetimes due to the redistribution policies of this President who has kept the economy stagnant for five long years and he is still not done with destroying us by making most of us the mere subjects of the Nanny state.  The fact is that his policies have benefited the rich more than anyone else .  This means he has actually grown his own target for the war he has chosen to wage between Americans.  Combine all of this with the backdrop of  "ginned up" racial tensions and it makes rational, sober people want to run screaming from him and D.C. into the night.  Ronald Reagan once said   “Government exists to protect us from each other. Where government has gone beyond its limits is in deciding to protect us from ourselves.”

 

The ever obsequious press of which we have commented on more than a few times in the past, are also in issue overload.   To many of them the sexual proclivities of politicians, the latest trivia about the Kardashians or Beyonce and Jay Z and the "celebritization" of the culture is all of equal import with the earthly manifestations of the  Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse and all they symbolize.  Even peace is left out of their equations since peace is good news and good news is no news and no news is the only sin they still believe in.

 

The politics of "Modernity" are irrational, confusing and distracting only if we let them be.  Remember they had to drain a swamp to build Washington City.  Today many would like to drain D.C. to create a swamp where at least the ecology would be understandable to us and we would  all have a fighting chance of taking our vorpal swords in hand and spurning the" frumious bandersnatch" !
