THE "PROGRESSIVE" ASYLUM

 

 

I have come to the conclusion that many people who identify themselves as "Progressives" are simply crazy and I mean that in a clinical sense.

 

Trying to have a cogent, logical, factual, rational and civil discussion with them about almost anything today has become increasingly impossible.  You offer facts...they become unhinged and begin to call you  names.  You challenge their their assertions and they make things up out of whole cloth.

 

They get away with this for the following reasons:

 

one: The teachers of teachers have become predominately left wing who see education as the pathway to indoctrinate children about social justice, political correctness, magical thinking, America as a racist nation, Israel is the bad guy and sexuality.  Author MaryBeth Hicks has identified Bill Ayers as "the high priest of this effort.  "Leftism" she says "has become the rule and not the exception".

 

two:  "Progressives" are essentially socialists with nasty attitudes who prove Einstein's rule about insanity...they keep doing the same thing  and each time expect a different outcome.   The problem is that since they now dominate Academia from pre-K through post graduate studies including Law Schools, Journalism Schools. Ed schools, Social Work Schools  and the like, our children no longer have any idea, unless we have educated them, of the truth about our history, current affairs, how the government functions (or is supposed to function), or how our economy works.  Thus our children have become prey to the insane world view of the "Progressive" elites.

 

three: "Progressives" dominate our culture which is the soft white underbelly of our society.  Music, literature, film television and even art have become political weapons to challenge our values, our faith and our tradition.  

 

four:  The news media, both print and electronic, are predominantly left wing "Progressive".  On a daily basis they slant facts, under report, distort, ignore or make things up and call it news.  They have short attention spans and in an almost preternaturally fashion seem to take their cues from government "Progressives" also on a daily basis.

 

last:  The "Progressives" have swallowed up one of the two major parties and have the elected officials of that party advocating for programs that don't work, are obsolete, are corrupt, and wasteful of the taxpayers money.  Their core constituencies are donors, victim groups that they have nurtured and not the American  people.

 

Here are some examples of where "Progressive" ideology has morphed into psychological disfunctionality in the last 10 days:

 

1) In NYC "Progressive"  Federal Judge Shira Scheindlin who recently struck down the most successful weapon for reducing violent crime yet used by modern policing, appointed a 13 person panel of Law Professors called her "Academic Advisory Council" to assist her in micro managing the NYPD.  Only one had any experience with law enforcement.  The rest were either novices in this realm or shared Scheindlin's world view. One, Professor Tracey Mears of Yale reportedly "favors the policing practices of Chicago " over that of the NYPD.  Chicago is now the Murder Capitol of the country and the Democratic Governor has offered the use of the National Guard to restore the peace.  Meanwhile gun crimes are up 13% in NYC and Stop and Frisks are down 17% since Scheindlin issued her insane decision.

 

2)  On September 24th several 7th graders in Virginia Beach Va. were playing with their legal soft pellet guns in the yard of one of the boys while they waited for the bus.  A neighbor reported them and their  "zero tolerance" school "expelled" them for the rest of the year.  The message here is that "we the state have ultimate authority over your children at all times and in all places!"

 

3) The "uber"  "Progressive" and equally  crazy Nancy Pelosi said this week that the cupboard was bare and no money could be cut from the 2014 Federal Budget.  She said this as her President  proposed cutting $540 Billion from Medicare and Social Security in his version of the budget...but then Nancy usually is unaware of most of what is going on around her which will not stop her from  blaming the Republicans for these cuts if they go through. 

 

4)  College student Robert Van Tuinen of Modesto College was prohibited from handing out copies of the U.S. Constitution on campus to celebrate "Constitution Day" by college officials. Instead he was informed he could hand them out at a small, secluded area called the "free speech zone".  Modesto College apparently finds the Constitution too controversial a document for its students to know about.  The expulsion of our basic governing document from the public square is insane as is the limiting of where students can express their 1st Admendment rights.

 

5) At a public open  forum on the "Common Core" in Towson Md., parent Robert Small was arrested, handcuffed, charged with assault and made to sit on the curb cuffed because he tried to ask a question of the Baltimore Co. School Board that they had not pre-cleared for this open public hearing.  Video clearly shows that security assaulted him.

 

6) The NYTimes and the NY Daily News are so obsessed with the delusion that guns and not people kill people that they went ballistic with reports that the killer in the Navy Yard used an AR 15 rifle, which he did not.  The Times sort of apologized but the News did not even though it devoted its front page and at least four pages on the evils of this weapon.  It later turned out that Aaron Alexis the killer was mentally ill and a devotee of violent internet games which would link him with most of the other recent mass killers.  Covering mental illness apparently hits too close to home for the News.

 

7)  On Tuesday the President went before the U.N. General Assembly and declared that the world was more stable than it was five years ago when he took office.  Last year he told the General Assembly that a video caused the Benghazi attacks. 

 

This is the week that was in the "Progressive" Asylum!

 Antiq Hennis was murdered in his stroller over the Labor Day weekend.  He was 16 months old and the shot that went through his little head was meant for his father, Anthony who has a rap sheet with 24 items that use words like drugs, guns and assault.   Question number one is why was this guy out of jail particularly after he refused to help the NYPD find his son's killer?

 

Question number two is will New Yorkers realize that the insane world of the secular progressives led in this city by the Democratic Mayoral,  Comptroller and Public Advocate candidates, most of the the City Council and Federal Judge Shira Scheindlin are as responsible for this murder as much as the shooter?

 

In that same weekend, five New Yorkers were also shot in Brooklyn and the Bronx.  All of this was predictable since the attacks on "Stop, Question and Frisk" began in the courts and legislatures of NYC.

 

Even the Pastor who tried to comfort the parents of Antiq admitted to the Daily News that he had doubts over  Scheindlin's overreach saying that the procedure needed to be tweaked and not made unconstitutional and shut down.

 

In the immediate aftermath of what has become "Scheindlin's curse", criminals in the 40th Pct.  openly taunted cops that they couldn't be stopped any more.  One ran away and a loaded .38 fell out of his jacket pocket.

 

In the face of all of this, New Yorkers will go to the polls next Tuesday  to begin the process to elect the next Mayor, Comptroller, Public Advocate and City Council.  The Democrats were last in power as Mayor, twenty years ago when the main issue then as now was crime and public safety.  If  these problems are not under control then everything else is secondary.

 

The candidates on the Democratic line for Mayor and Comptroller are uniformly horrid.  One wants to give Plan B pills to 11 year old girls without their parents permission as well as begin sex ed for children in Kindergarten.  Another wants universal pre-K as a sop to the Teacher's Union by once more taxing the rich even when he knows that only the State can approve this and they don't want to.  He rails against slumlords and then we find out they have generously donated to his campaign.  He wants to use the Mayor's office to help private sector workers unionize. He opposed a rent freeze on regulated apartments before he was against it. He was for extending term limits before he was against them.  He promised to push the Planning Commission towards affordable housing yet his appointee voted against that position 93% of the time.  While he was a member of the City Council he accepted member items and when he became Public advocate he denounced them.   This same candidate is leading the charge against stop and frisk even though all the candidates pander on this issue like fat kids at a school bake sale before Bloomberg made bake sales illegal. 

 

Another Democratic Mayoral hopeful went racial when politically expedient, not out of any conviction.  He has additionally made questionable deals involving the administration of the City's pension funds when he was Comptroller which resulted in personal gain for himself after leaving office.  And then there is Anthony Weiner...'nuff said!  The last is the current Comptroller whose campaign is one huge scandal involving phoney donors, jailed associates, Chinese money and staffers who go to North Korea for their honeymoon.

 

The Comptroller candidates are equally wretched.  One is "Client # 9" aka "The Sheriff of Wall Street" who believes that the public cannot possibly survive without his holding the key to the public fisc which he intends to use to drive the last stable tax base out of the city.  Oh yes, he is most likely guilty of both laundering money and the Mann Act but he has been given a pass from NYS AG   Eric Schneiderman  who should be investigating Richard Trumpka for political misuse of union dues foe Obamacare  instead of DonaldTrump for starting a college.

 

The other Democratic candidate has missed most of his meetings as a trustee for the Pension Fund ( I mean Boro Presidents are so busy with doing progressive things they don't have time for mandated responsibilities!)  When he was an assemblyman he voted against a bill to strip away the not-for-profit status  of a front group for NAMBLA or the North American Man-Boy Love Association.  He did so on the grounds of protecting political free speech.  Earth to Scott ...an adult man telling a little boy to drop "trow" in a dirty  men's room is not covered by the constitution and if you don't know that you are not qualified to be elected to anything.

 

The City Council races contain two candidates from the NYS Assembly who are either proven or alleged harassers of young female interns even though what goes down in Albany is supposed to stay in Albany.  Most of the rest of this overwhelmingly Democratic body are anti-cop, pro-crime, pro-terrorism, pro-political Islam, pro-sex for all, pro-tax, pro- big government, pro-marijuana, pro-union, anti-religion, anti- taxpayer, anti-fracking and anti-small business candidates.

 

Their real constituencies are public service union leaders, trial lawyers, race hustlers, enviro wackos,  and anarchists.   They passed two laws in their last session to handcuff the cops and then drag them into court for a quick civil lawsuit payday.  Their next target is to dismantle and micro manage the superb anti-terrorism capabilities of the NYPD that have kept us all safe since 2001.  They regularly demean the greatest Police Commissioner the city has ever known, Ray Kelly, when instead they should lick his feet like the curs they are. 

 

So next Tuesday and on the second Tuesday in November keep all of this in mind when you vote.  Most importantly keep little Antiq Hennis in your hearts and minds when you cast your ballot.  Little Antiq never got the chance to vote in his life cut short, so we the adults will have to vote for him.

 

Remember him and remember that there is something wrong out there in the world of politics ...something's wrong that we can't control...and yet if this city is to survive  and not end up like Detroit...we must!
